Arrow Crossroads Community Residents Serving Others

Arrow Crossroads Community at Fair Meadows, located in Maryland, is designed to prepare girls, ages 13-21, for successful independent living after they leave foster care. The young women currently in this transitional living program are not only receiving help, they in turn are reaching out to help others.

During November, a number of residents will be attending “Faith in Action Weekend” at Harford Community Church where they’ll receive training on how to reach the un-churched through acts of kindness. The weekend before Thanksgiving our girls will be preparing Thanksgiving baskets at Oak Grove Baptist Church to be distributed to those in need. Last month, residents served dinner to the homeless at the FCCAU Shelter where they also helped with meal preparation and performed Praise and Worship songs.

When they’re not serving others, our girls enjoy occasional fun outings. Recent trips have included two dances, a day at Six Flags American, and a bon fire with the youth group from Harford Community Church. While attending the play “From Here to Eternity” at Rock City Church last month, six of our residents accepted Christ as their personal savior.

If your church would like to get involved with helping children in our care find their God given purpose in life, email Clay Barton , Arrow’s National Director of Church Relations. Read more about Arrow Crossroads Community .
