Four Weeks of Camp Scheduled this Summer Arrow Foster Kids are looking forward to all the fun of summer camp,
and Arrow foster parents are looking forward to the break. The four
weeks of The Arrow Adventure camp are scheduled for the weeks of June
14, July 21, July 28 and August 11. Each week is gender and age
specific. The theme for this year's camp is "Fill Me Up." Our
foundational scripture is Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow
with hope by the Holy Spirit."
The Woodlands United Methodist
Church, one of our church partners, is conducting all four weeks of
camp this year. They will staff the camp, design the activities and
oversee every aspect of running camp. This is such a tremendous
blessing and relief to Arrow and our staff. We will still have our
social work staff on campus to aid the kids and camp counselors should
their services be needed, but the "camp stuff" will be facilitated by
The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
Our kids will enjoy the
typical summer camp activities like paddle boating, canoeing, fishing,
swimming, horse riding, high and low ropes, sports, crafts, and camp
fire activities. However, The Woodlands United Methodist Church is also
planning some unique activities such as martial arts, archery, and a BB
gun range.
Each camper will receive a backpack, water bottle and
t-shirt with the camp theme and logo imprinted on them, as well as a
bandana that has the color of their cabin group. When the kids arrive
at camp, they'll be greeted by camp counselors and staff providing a
big pep rally type welcome.
Arrow Ambassador Family Specialists will be signing children up for camp during their April home visits.
