2009 Annual Campaign Begins With A Day And Evening of Inspiration, raising $56,810 toward our goal of $704,000 Our 2009 Annual Campaign kicked off May 14th with the Ambassadors Luncheon at River Oaks Country Club in Houston and at a special evening engagement, just north of Houston, at The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
There were approximately 250 friends of Arrow present at the Ambassadors Luncheon that heard about the 2,278 lives that were changed in 2008 by Arrow families and staff. Two of our foster families, James and Natalie Strole, and Fernando and Laura Garcia shared heartfelt testimonies of their fostering experience. Sheryl Steely with one of our church partners, The Woodlands United Methodist Church, expressed how their partnership with Arrow has impacted children and families. Nick Vujicic shared his inspiring story of how he is overcoming a life without limbs by emphasizing what he does have. Nick encouraged luncheon attendees to take what they have and create a life without limits for children rescued from abuse.
Nick also joined us for a ticketed event that evening at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, where over 1,600 people heard his testimony. Christian recording artist, Curt Collins opened the evening with several songs and even shared his own story of being adopted. The proceeds of from the event will give approximately 200 Texas foster children in our care a summer camp experience.
"Life Without Limits" is the theme of this year's annual campaign and will span from May (Foster Care Awareness month) to November (Adoption Awareness month). Our nationwide goal is to raise $704,000 to continue impacting lives in the communities we currently serve and to expand our ministry in the US and internationally. Join us in our mission to create Life Without Limits for children and families through an
online tax-deductible donation.
