Arrow Child & Family Ministries launched our first California office with an introduction dinner at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California on January 27th.
Approximately 250 guests consisting of pastors, members of California Child Welfare Services, and civic leaders were introduced to Arrow’s history, current programs and accomplishments. Michael Reagan, son of President Ronald Reagan, and Arrow Founder/CEO Mark Tennant presented compelling information on local foster care statistics and how the Church should take back, from a faltering State system, the responsibility of “caring for widows and orphans.”
Church leaders were challenged to develop their own foster/adopt ministries to develop Christian foster homes and to create support systems for foster families in their own churches. Pastors were encouraged to contact Arrow’s Church & Community Alliances division for information and assistance in creating their own “Arrow Project” ministry.
Tommy Tenney, Arrow Board Member and President of God Chasers, encouraged dinner guests to partner with Arrow financially. Though this was not a fund raising event, over $5,000 was donated at the dinner to help further Arrow’s mission of Helping Kids and Strengthening Families in California.
