Arrow’s Mack Diagnostic Center in Baltimore,
Maryland renovated after 14 years of service The Mack Diagnostic Center in our Baltimore, Maryland office was rededicated on August 18th during an Open House to share with guests its new look after a recent extreme makeover. This facility has not had a major update since it first opened in 1995.
New furniture, carpet, tiles and paint have totally transformed the atmosphere for the 12-18 year old boys who reside in the Mack Diagnostic Center during their 90 day stay. The formerly institutional feel of the facilities have been totally transformed to an upscale, homelike feel. One of our boys told of his reaction of excitement when first seeing the renovations, "I just wanted to runaround and jump up and down."
Each bedroom was given its own color scheme and theme: music, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, motorcycles, and motocross. Scriptural references are displayed in the hallway. The boys refer to the living room area as the "McDonalds" room because the booths against the wall have a similar style as the dining booths at restaurants. This room displays images of local landmarks in the Baltimore area.
For the extensive changes to take place, all the boys staying in the Diagnostic Center were treated to a week of summer camp, along with other Texas foster children, at Arrow's own, 110 acre facility just north of Houston. They returned to brand new bedrooms and a whole new look throughout the Diagnostic Center.
