Foster Parent Training

The Arrow Ambassador Family Initiative (AFI) is a training series designed to equip foster/adopt parents with the tools and knowledge they need to successfully raise children with special needs.

AFI reflects our Christian worldview, with particular attention given to spiritual and scriptural application to each social work element. The AFI curriculum covers an orientation to Arrow Child & Family Ministries and issues of foster parenting: communication, child development, separation and loss, sexual abuse, behavior modification and discipline, and family relationships, standards and documentation.

Upon completion of the pre-service training, families participate in a Home Study with trained home study worker to ensure that children will be placed in a safe, loving and nurturing home.

On-going training opportunities and individual support is available every step of this exciting journey as our foster parents become Ambassador's with Arrow Child & Family Ministries. "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ . . ." 2 Corinthians 5:20
