The Arrow Center for Education Riverside, located in Belcamp, Maryland (map), is a private, non-public special education day school for elementary school students (k – 5th grade), and middle school students (6th – 8th grade).
Our curriculum, class structure and specialized services are designed for students who have not experienced meaningful success in a public school setting. Our goal is to help each child reach their full potential academically, emotionally, and behaviorally.
To build a solid foundation for future learning, our certified Special Education Teachers make learning now, a relevant and rewarding experience by providing opportunities for each student, perhaps for the first time, to experience success on a daily basis. These incremental successes maintain student’s interest and motivates them to achieve more. To ensure our students’ success, we limited the class size to just nine students so teachers can provide the necessary individual attention.
Our service delivery model includes implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and when appropriate Applied Behavior Analysis and sensory strategies. All services are assessed in a data-rich model, and discussed in a multi-disciplinary team that includes the parents and guardians.
Our entire staff, consisting of teachers, assistant teachers, behavioral staff, speech/language pathologist, licensed therapists, and occupational therapist are dedicated to preparing students to successfully transition into public schools.
