OVERVIEW

Arrow’s Ascension Place provides critical stabilization and treatment services for children in the midst of crisis. Designed as a high intensity group home, Arrow’s Ascension Place serves children ages 12-17, who need a more intensive residential intervention that is focused on time-limited treatment and meeting permanency goals. Our staff goes beyond mere symptom reduction for children to provide ongoing wellness for families and children.

Our residential intervention emphasizes treatment, supporting children in building skills and setting them up for success beyond care:

  • Serves young men and women, ages 12-17
  • Residents, who cannot return home immediately may be eligible for other Arrow services
  • Uses an evidence-based trauma-responsive framework for services (Trust-Based Relational Intervention)
  • Other evidence-based components include Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Motivational Interviewing, and Professional Crisis Management
  • On-site clinical and nursing staff, who are available 24-7
  • On-site psychiatry and medical care
  • On-site crisis prevention and stabilization team
  • On-site MSDE licensed education
  • Six months of aftercare services (Case management, stabilization, family support)
  • Family centered model with emphasis on safely engaging biological family and other persons of support, as identified by the child
  • Individualized services planning, evaluation, and interventions, as needed
  • Therapeutic sensory space to promote self-organization and positive change
  • Life skills training
  • Therapeutic recreation
