At Arrow Child & Family Ministries, we believe every child deserves a safe, loving home — and the Shelton family is a shining example of what that dream can look like when it becomes reality.

After opening their hearts and home through foster care, the Sheltons embraced the opportunity to care for a child in need. Their journey was one marked by patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment. And recently, that journey reached a beautiful milestone: they finalized the adoption of their child, officially creating a forever family.

Moments like this are powerful reminders of why our mission matters. Behind every placement is a child seeking love and security — and behind every success story is a family willing to say “yes.” We celebrate the Shelton family and their incredible dedication to helping a child grow, heal, and thrive in a home filled with love.

To the Sheltons and all our foster and adoptive families — thank you for making forever possible.

Tangram recently had the joy of celebrating Autism Awareness Day alongside the Towson University Men’s Basketball team, creating an unforgettable experience filled with energy, unity, and community spirit.

Students supported by Tangram were invited to attend the game, thanks to the incredible generosity of Michael K. Gathagan and the Towson Men’s Basketball team. Their thoughtful contribution made it possible for more of our families to participate, turning a great day into a truly meaningful one.

The event not only gave students a chance to enjoy a thrilling game, but also brought awareness to an important cause that touches many lives. We are proud to have been part of such a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere, and we’re grateful to Towson for making space for community and compassion on and off the court.

Together, we celebrated more than basketball—we celebrated connection, understanding, and the power of coming together in support of Autism Awareness.

Our new sign is more than just a physical marker — it’s a powerful symbol of growth, transformation, and the ongoing evolution of Arrow Child & Family Ministries. As we continue to expand our impact across the community, this sign stands as a visual reminder of who we are, what we stand for, and the hope we strive to bring to every child and family we serve.

From the initial concept to final installation, we carefully considered each detail to ensure the sign clearly represents our organization’s identity and mission. Its placement and design were strategically chosen to increase visibility, making it easier for families, partners, and community members to locate and engage with Arrow. As we move forward, this sign will play an essential role in our outreach, helping us connect more effectively with those who seek our support and services. 💙

It was a great opportunity for students to ask questions, engage with real firefighters, and gain a deeper understanding of fire safety and emergency response. A big thank you to the Baltimore County Fire Department for making this experience possible!

Tangram, students explored exciting topics across their classes! In math, they worked on labeling coins and understanding their value, while science classes focused on recycling. Social Studies lessons covered maps, helping students develop a sense of geography.

Classroom 5 took a deep dive into weather, learning how temperature determines whether precipitation falls as rain or snow. To wrap up the lesson, students conducted a fun science experiment, observing how temperature affects the melting of a peppermint candy.

In Classroom 7, students expanded their vocabulary through interactive activities. Using picture-labeled envelopes placed around the room, they matched new words to their meanings, reinforcing their learning in a hands-on way.

To end the week, students put their cooking skills to the test, preparing dips and snacks in anticipation of the Super Bowl. From shopping for ingredients to following recipes, they combined learning with fun in the kitchen!

The Speak family recently finalized their adoption journey as a straight adopt family. Ms. Speak, a dedicated single mother, officially adopted two girls who were initially placed with her through kinship care, though they are not biologically related. Her commitment and love have created a beautiful, permanent home for these children.

The Shelton family also reached a major milestone, finalizing their adoption after fostering with Arrow since October 2023. Their journey was a traditional foster-to-adopt placement, and this year, they were able to officially welcome their child into their forever family.

A heartfelt congratulations to the families and dedicated team members who made this extraordinary moment possible!
